
Michael Skehan, PFS

Michael Skehan, CPA, PFS, Senior Advisor is a well-known industry leader who has been recognized for his outstanding contributions both by his peers and community. Skehan was with RJ Pile for 44 years prior to retiring as managing partner to join WealthPoint Advisors LLC.
Mike graduated from Indiana University in 1965 with a BS in Accounting. Prior to that, Mike served in the US Army stationed in Europe. After college, Mike went to work as a staff accountant at RJ Pile and Co. Mike’s Certified Public Accountant designation was earned in 1971, and he served as member and chairman of several committees of both the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). He became a Partner in 1972 and eventually rose to and served as Managing Partner of the firm. Mike remained with the firm for 44 years until leaving to join WealthPoint Advisors in 2009.
In 1997, Mike earned the designation of Personal Financial Specialist from the AICPA. Mike remains a member of both organizations. In 1999, Mike was awarded the Public Service award for outstanding service in his community by both the INCPAS and the AICPA.
During Mike’s career, he has served as Treasurer of Meridian Street Methodist for approximately 20 years and remains a member of the church. Mike served 6 years as Treasurer on the Indiana Repertory Theatre Board and was a member of the Executive Committee. Mike served approximately 10 years as Treasurer and Executive Committee member of the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian and Western Art, and he remains on their Advisory Board. At both civic organizations, Mike was instrumental in setting up their endowment and preparing the endowment investment philosophy.
Mike served on the Board of the Friends of White River, an environmental organization. Mike has also served as President of the East Indianapolis Sertoma Club working to open its membership to all. Mike has also served on the board of Indianapolis Fly Casters, and he is an avid fly fisher. Mike is semi-retired and works part-time, as needed, as a senior advisor.
